Short Hikes in Shenandoah National Park (2010, 24 pages)
This booklet introduces the hiker to 30 short hikes from 0.7 to 1.9 miles in length and covers the full length of the park. The North District Hike Section outlines 10 different hikes; the Central District Hike Section outlines 12 hikes; and the South District Hike Section outlines 8 hikes. Although the hikes are short, they are not necessarily easy. Some hikes have uphill climbs.
Maps and starting points along Skyline Drive are provided as well as the distance of each hike and estimated hiking time.
Short Hikes was first published in 1994 and was the beginning of a very popular hiking series, including Hikes to Peaks and Vistas, Easy Hikes, and Hikes to Waterfalls.
